The Fenland Model Club provides an attractive and friendly environment for relaxed model flying in the Ely area. Its 50 or so members cover a wide spread of ages and skill. Models flown at our field are typically aerobatic or stand-off scale, gliders and helicopters, and cover a wide spectrum of value and performance.
New members are welcomed and we provide training for novices. Preparing model aircraft and flying them in a club environment provides people of all ages, and especially the young, with opportunities to be creative and to develop interests and responsibilities that can enhance their future lives. It’s also great fun!
We follow the rules and guidelines of the BMFA, a body which is recognised by the Sports Council and which looks after flyers’ interests in England and Wales. In addition, the Club has its own rules to promote considerate and safe flying at its site. All club members are covered by BMFA 3rd-party insurance, and under18s have to be accompanied by a parent or guardian when on site or at a club meeting.
